When Apple first released QuickTime, a lot of videographers laughed. Sure it was a tiny, low-res image, but the geeks knew that it represented the future. Film and video were ridiculously expensive and digital video promised to liberate us all.

Of course, thanks to these new technologies, we're seeing a lot more crap. Then again, we've seen our share of big budget crap as well. What I'm interested in is the brilliance that may see the light of day due to dv's affordability.
